Moroccan tradition and skin nutrition as the primary goals. We make all
recipes from scratch and do not use use sulphates, parabens,
polysorbates, fragrances, perfumes, dyes or harsh preservatives. Our
products are known to nourish the skin and soothe many dry skin
irritations aggravated by acne, eczema, psoriasis. At Zakia's Morocco

Argan Oil (Argania Spinosa)
Argan Oil has
almost twice as much vitamin E as olive oil and is rich in
anti-oxidants. It is 80% unsaturated, containing eight essential fatty
acids. Argan oil also contains rare plant sterols not found in other
oils, which have anti-inflammatory properties, beneficial for arthritic
or rheumatic conditions. It helps to prevent loss of moisture from the

Nutmeg (Myristica Powder)
Nutmeg
oil has a warm, spicy, sharp aroma; it has a number of properties
including being analgesic, anti-septic, digestive, an aphrodisiac,
stimulant, tonic and anti-oxidant. In aromatherapy, Nutmeg is used in
the treatment of a number of conditions; it is used to treat arthritis,
gout, rheumatism, poor circulation, indigestion, constipation,
flatulence, nausea, nervous fatigue and anxiety. |

Apricot Oil is
rich in the essential oleic and linolenic fatty acids and is known for
its ability to penetrate the skin without leaving an oily feel. It
moisturizes and revitalizes dry or aged skin. |

Oats (Avena sativa)
Used
in our Cereals Gommage, Oat straw and the grain are considered to be a
mild antidepressant, gently raising energy levels and supporting an
over-stressed nervous systems. Oats are thought to stimulate sufficient
nervous energy to help relieve insomnia.

Avocado Oilcontains
vitamins A, B, and D and is rich in lecithin. It penetrates the upper
layers of the skin and has beneficial effect on dry skin. |

is 100% vegetable base and an exceptional emollient as well as offering

Extremely
rare and precious oil that is very high in vitamin E. It is an
extraordinary oil that has high anti-inflammatory, anti-oxident and

Poppy Seed (Papaver)
Poppy
Seed oil is very high (70%) in linoleic acid. Linoleic acid has become
increasingly popular in the beauty products industry because of its
beneficial properties on the skin. Research points to linoleic acid's
affective properties when applied topically on the skin, ie.
anti-inflammatory, acne reduction, moisture retention properties. |

Corn (Zea mays)
Used
in our Cereals Gommage, it is a good emollient poultice for ulcers,
swellings and rheumatic pains. It contains the cell-proliferant and
wound-healing substance allantoin, which is widely used in herbal
medicine to speed the healing process.The plant is said to have
anticancer properties and is experimentally hypoglycaemic and
hypotensive. |

Potassium alumPotassium
alum is an astringent/styptic and antiseptic. For this reason, it can
be used as a natural deodorant by inhibiting the growth of the bacteria
responsible for body odor. Use of mineral salts in such a fashion does
not prevent perspiration. Its astringent/styptic properties are often
employed after shaving and to reduce bleeding in minor cuts and
abrasions, nosebleeds, and hemorrhoids. It is frequently used topically
and internally in traditional systems of medicine including Ayurveda. |

Ginger root (Zingiber officinale)
It
is highly beneficial in combating depression. It has also proved its
effectiveness in relieving pain. Ginger essential oil is sought after

Excellent
moisturizing and emulsifying properties. Jojoba is rich in Vitamin E,
contains proteins and minerals, as well as myristic acid, which is an

Excellent for inflamed or irritated conditions, a mild sunscreen. |

Sesame Seed Oil (Sésamum Indicum)
Sesame Seed Oil contains approximately
16% saturated fat, 40% oleic acid (an omega-9 fatty acid), 44% linoleic
acid (an omega-6 essential fatty acid), and less than 1% alpha
linolenic acid (an omega-3 essential fatty acid). |

This
essential oil has a sweet, crisp scent. A powerful, yet mild
antiseptic, it can be used directly on the skin for urgent needs such

all skin types, particularly oily and/or blemished, sensitive skin. |
